Commercial kitchens run on gas and electricity, and plenty of faults involve both. CES Wellington's factory-trained technicians repair the gas and electrical sides of commercial catering equipment, on all brands, across Greater Wellington, the Wairarapa and Manawatū, including Palmerston North, Levin, Foxton and Pahiatua.
One call for gas and electrical. Our technicians are registered electrical and gas technicians.
Gas equipment repairs
If a gas appliance won't light, the pilot won't stay lit, it won't hold temperature or it's behaving oddly, stop using it and call us. Our registered gas technicians will find the fault and explain the fix in plain terms.
If you smell gas: don't try to relight anything and don't use electrical switches near the appliance. Turn the gas off at the appliance or the emergency shut-off if it's safe to do so, open doors and windows, get people clear, and call your gas supplier's emergency line or 111 from outside. Then call us to repair the fault.
Electrical equipment repairs
Electrical faults can stop equipment dead or make it run unreliably. Our registered electrical technicians track down the cause and repair it, so your equipment is safely back in service.
Safe checks before you call
- Check the equipment is switched on at the wall switch or isolator switch.
- For gas equipment, check the gas isolation valve handle at the appliance is in the "on" position, and that your kitchen's emergency gas shut-off hasn't been pressed. Don't do this if you can smell gas.
- Write down or photograph any error code.
- Never open gas or electrical panels, or remove covers. That work is for registered technicians.
All brands covered
Our dishwasher and oven servicing focuses on particular brands, but our gas and electrical repairs don't. Whatever make your equipment is, talk to us about the fault.
Brands we regularly work on include Rational, Convotherm, Blue Seal, Waldorf, Bakbar, Hobart, Washtech, Winterhalter, Classeq, Middleby Marshall, XLT, Proquip, Delta and Lincoln.
Tell us about the fault
Our online booking form asks whether the equipment is gas or electric, along with the model, serial number and how urgent the job is. You can upload a photo too, so we understand the problem before we arrive.
